Promotion of Improved Agronomic Package of Practices :

  • Promotion of line sowing / Transplanting: There is an approved rate of assistance of Rs. 1500 per hact for adoption of line sowing / transplanting.
  • Seed treatment campaign: there is a subsidy assistance to be provided for procurement of seed treating Chemical @ Rs. 100 per hact.

PROMOTION OF SRI:

System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is being promoted through providing incentive @ Rs. 5,000 in round per hact.

TECHNOLOGY MISSION SUGARCANE DEVELOPMENT:

  • SUSTAINABLE SUGARCANE INITIATIVE (SSI): There is an approved rate of assistance of Rs. 20,000 per hact for sustainable sugarcane initiative ( inputs, portrays, bud chipper, fertilizer & pesticide).
  • RATOON MANAGEMENT DEMONSTRATION: There is an approved rate of assistance of Rs. 12,500 per hact for ratoon management demonstration (seed cane, fertilizer, pesticide, bio pesticide, bio fertilizer and Rs. 1,000 incentive for trash transportation.

INTENSIVE EXTENSION CAMPAIGN ON AGRICULTURE:

To create public awareness on programme being implemented and modern crop husbandry.

HARNESSING SURFACE AND GROUND WATER:

To provide assistance under RIDF for establishment of Private Lift irrigation points (shallow tube wells, Deep Bore well, Dug wells, and River lift project) under the support of Agriculture policy 2013. The PLIP will be implemented in two formats Viz. Jalanidhi-I for individual and Jalanidhi-II in cluster approach will be implemented by water resources department.

JALANIDHI-I:

  1. Bore well: 75% limited to Rs. 50,000 (excluding electrification cost).In adding 75% of General / electrification cost limited to Rs. 50,000 for energization.
  2. Dug well: 75% project cost limited to Rs. 75,000
  3. Surface / River lift: 75% limited to Rs. 60,000 ( community based / registered bodies to get 90% subsidy provided the minimum ayacut is 40 hact)

BIJU KRUSHAK KALYAN YOJANA (BKKY):

BKKY is brought in as a tribute to the farmers and their families to provide them health security. Under the scheme health insurance is being provided to five members of the family’s from 2013 under two streams. The members of the insured family under stream-I are not included under RSBY (Rashtriya Swasta Bima Yojana) are provided insurance coverage of Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 70,000. Similarly the health insurance coverage under stream-II of BKKY is extended to those enrolled under RSBY with top up of amount Rs. 70,000 in addition to the Rs. 30,000 provided under RSBY.

SUPPORT TO FARMERS VENTURE CAPITAL FOR AGRICULTURE START UP:

Venture capital support would be extended for encouraging establishment of commercial agrientreprises. Fund being placed with APICOL for Final release to the beneficiaries against the subsidy release claims (SRC).

SPECIAL PROGRAMME ON MILLETS IN TRIBAL DISTRICT OF ODISHA:

In order to meet the nutritional security in tribal house hold a special programme of Millets in tribal district of Odisha has been lunched in the state to be carried out by the department in collaboration with NCDS and consortium of NGOs having following objectives.

  • To increase household consumption of millets by 25% to ensure household nutrition security and to create demand for millets.
  • To promote millet processing enterprises at Panchayat and Block level to ease processing at households and for value added markets.
  • Improve productivity of millets crop systems through various agronomic practices and make them profitable.
  • Develop millet enterprises by establishing market linkages to rural/ urban markers with focus on women entrepreneurs (SHG).
  • Inclusion of millets in State nutrition programmes and public distribution systems.

CAE: COMMERCIAL AGRI ENTERPRISES:

The Government has announced an Agriculture Policy which has come into effect from 1st APRIL, 2013. The said policy provides for payment of Capital Investment Subsidy. Scheme Pattern of Assistance Capital Investment Subsidy for Commercial Agri-Enterprises (CAE)40% of the fixed capital(excluding the cost of the land) subject to a limit of 50.00 lakh (50% limited to 50.00 lakh for SC/ST/Women/Graduates of Agriculture and Allied Disciplines)
