    INTRODUCTION

        The Orissa Tribal Empowerment and Livelihood Programme (OTELP) was launched on 2nd October 2004 at Bhubaneswar by Shri Naveen Patnaik , Hon’ble Chief Minister of Orissa . In the 1st phase it has been started in 10 Blocks of four districts of Orissa taking up most backward Blocks having more than 60% S.T./S.C. population and maximum BPL households. The name of the Blocks of Koraput district covered under this programme is given below. The Programme is implemented through the ITDA Koraput.

GOAL OF OTELP:

         The goal of the programme is to ensure that livelihoods and food security of poor tribal household are sustainably improved through promoting a more efficient equitable self managed and sustainable exploitation of the Natural Resources at their disposal and through off farm/non-farm enterprise development.
